Work injury

Dealing with a work injury can be stressful. At Global Clinic, we help our patients to recover promptly, offering a comprehensive treatment plan.

We understand the Illinois Worker's Compensation aspects. We will help you navigate the system and work as a team with your attorney and insurance adjustor.

Physical therapy, pain management, orthopedic, and neurosurgery are all at our disposal while helping your recover from an injury. We work with some of the best orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons in the Chicagoland area. Regardless of the extent of the injury, we will ensure that you receive the best medical care.

Work Conditioning and Work Hardening

Our Physical Therapy director specializes in Work Conditioning and Work hardening. We create an individualized, highly structured program designed to help you return to pre-injury work status safely and timely.

The goal is to help you regain your strength, endurance, and flexibility to meet your job demands.

It includes strengthening and flexibility exercises, cardiovascular conditioning, spine, joint stabilization exercises, and job task training (pushing, pulling, crouching, lifting, bending, sitting, or twisting).

Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)

Our Physical Therapy Director specializes in Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) for an injured worker. We have helped many patients and their doctors determine if they can perform their job requirements and safely return. We request a detailed job description from your employer. Based on this description, we create a set of tests, practices, and observations combined to determine your ability to meet job requirements objectively. We use special software to create a detailed analytical report used by your doctor to make a return to work recommendations or determine the disability level.

Functional capacity evaluations are essential in workers compensation cases because:

  • FCE helps decide whether you can return to work.

  • FCE determines whether you need to return to work with modified job requirements or at reduced capacity.

  • FCE helps to prevent additional workplace injury.

  • FCE helps objectively resolve disputes about the level of injury

  • FCE helps determine your qualifications for worker's compensation, Social Security, or other benefits.
